Book #4 ~ Carissa's Pick: Garden Spells

I have been cooking a bit over the last few years inspired by my mom's true talent for it and I know Aunt Barb, like Grandpa Al, is quite the gardener…this is a lovely little read about food, family, letting go of the past, finding love and a little bit of magic.

It’s a quick read but an enjoyable one.

By Sarah Addison Allen

"The women of the Waverley family -- whether they like it or not -- are heirs to an unusual legacy, one that grows in a fenced plot behind their Queen Anne home on Pendland Street in Bascom, North Carolina. There, an apple tree bearing fruit of magical properties looms over a garden filled with herbs and edible flowers that possess the power to affect in curious ways anyone who eats them."

One way to donate your books to a good cause...

If you are like me you could technically be considered a book hoarder.

Here is a great link that will let you print off a (or many) prepaid shipping label(s) to donate your books! They in turn sell the books and donate a portion of the profits to global literacy initiatives books. Plus, for every purchase on the website, it sends one book to a person in need.

You just register and click a button.  I registered and printed off 3 labels in less than 5 minutes.
